One of our founding members of Puissance Europe / Manifeste Contintental passed away on 12 March 2021: Luigi (Gino) Vittorio Maiocchi. He will be greatly missed.

Luigi Vittorio Maiocchi was born in Vigevano (Lombardy) on 11 October 1937. In 1955 he entered the Ghislieri College in Pavia, where he graduated in law. His decision to become an activist for federalism dates back to 1957. From 1980 to 1986 he was secretary of the Movimento Federalista Europeo. From 1984 to 1987, he was Secretary General of the European Movement International. In 1989, he was awarded the Jean Monnet Chair for the History of European Integration at the University of Pavia. In the nineteen sixties and nineteen seventies, he taught History and Philosophy at the Taramelli Modern High School in Pavia.
